Categories include: Assistant (TRD/Operations/TL & AC/S&T), Pointsman-B, Assistant Track Machine, Track Maintainer-IV, Assistant Bridge, Assistant Carriage & Wagon, Assistant Loco Shed (Electrical), Assistant P.Way, etc. (See Annexure-A for complete list).

Total: 22195 Vacancies (including all categories). Railway Zone-wise distribution in Annexure-B. Example: Western Railway – 1599 Track Maintainer-IV, NR – 1764 Track Maintainer-IV, etc.

Vertical Reservation: SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS as per Govt. rules.
Horizontal Reservation: Ex-Servicemen (ExSM), Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAA) trained in Railway Establishments, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).

10th pass / ITI / National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT – as per post parameters in Annexure-A. Diploma/Degree in Engineering not accepted in lieu of ITI/CCAA.

As on 01.01.2026: 18 to 33 years.
Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 yrs, OBC-NCL – 3 yrs, PwBD – 10 yrs (UR/EWS), 13 yrs (OBC), 15 yrs (SC/ST); ExSM – +3 yrs after service deduction; CCAA – up to 3 yrs; Railway Staff – up to 40/43/45 yrs; Widowed/Divorced women – +5 yrs. (Refer Para 5.2 for complete table)

Total: 100 questions, 90 minutes. Negative marking: 1/3 mark per wrong answer. Minimum qualifying marks: UR/EWS 40%, OBC/SC/ST 30% (relaxed by 2 marks for PwBD).

Medical standards: A2, A3, B1, C1 as per post. Vision requirements vary. LASIK surgery candidates not eligible for A2 & A3 posts. PwBD candidates have separate standards. PET: Male – lift 35kg/100m in 2 mins + run 1000m in 4m 15s; Female – lift 20kg/100m in 2 mins + run 1000m in 5m 40s.

Level-1 (7th CPC): ₹18,000 – ₹56,900 (Initial pay: ₹18,000). As per 7th Central Pay Commission.

All across India – Various Zonal Railways and Production Units (WR, NR, NWR, NCR, SWR, WCR, ECoR, SECR, SR, NER, NFR, ER, CR, ECR, SER, SCR, Metro Kolkata etc.) under the respective RRBs.

No prior work experience required. Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA) trained in Railway Establishments is considered as qualification, not experience.

Selected candidates will undergo training where prescribed – stipend paid during training. Security/Indemnity Bond may be required. Probation as per Railway rules.

2️⃣ Login and apply for CEN 09/2025 – choose only one RRB/Railway Zone.
3️⃣ Fill personal, educational, post preferences.
4️⃣ Capture live photograph using webcam/camera (no pre-existing photo).
5️⃣ Upload signature (JPG/JPEG) and SC/ST certificate (if needed).
6️⃣ Pay application fee online (Net Banking/Card/UPI).
7️⃣ Download confirmation page.
8️⃣ Modification window (05-14 Mar 2026) – pay ₹250 per modification.
